Use of Myo Inositol in Women Who Don’t Have PCOS Has Negative Impacts On Fertility
In this study with Reproductive Biology and Endocrinology, we see that the common blood sugar supplement myo inositol has a worsening effect on the follicular development in women trying to conceive when the women does not have the diagnosis of Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome. Myo Inositol can have a dramatic effect on women who do have PCOS so it isn’t a bad supplement for fertility. You simply need to be taking the right supplement for you and your specific imbalance.
This highlights that taking supplements off the store shelves without some point of reference as to why you need to take it can be harmful. Self diagnosis is a slippery slope and while I am all for self care and doing your research sometimes, especially with complicated presentations like infertility, it is best to get some advice.
Be sure to speak with a knowledgable health care profession before taking something you read about.
